# Use styles & lyrics

> task=use_styles_lyrics — new song from a clip’s style

Write a new song that borrows the style (and lyric shape) of `clip_id`. Put the new idea in `gpt_description_prompt`.

`POST /suno/v2/generate` returns `{ "taskId" }`. Poll [Get Task Status](/api-reference/suno/task). Schema: `GET /suno/v2/generate/schema?task=use_styles_lyrics`.

## Parameters

| `task` | Yes | `"use_styles_lyrics"` |
| `model` | Yes | `chirp-v6` recommended |
| `clip_id` | Yes | Style / lyric reference |
| `gpt_description_prompt` | No | What the new song is about |
| `make_instrumental` | No | `true` drops the vocal |
