# Upload extend

> task=upload_extend — continue a public audio file

Same as [Extend](/api-reference/suno/generateExtend), but the source is a public `audio_url` instead of `clip_id`.

`POST /suno/v2/generate` returns `{ "taskId" }`. Poll [Get Task Status](/api-reference/suno/task). Schema: `GET /suno/v2/generate/schema?task=upload_extend`.

## Parameters

| Field | Required | Notes |

| `task` | Yes | `"upload_extend"` |
| `model` | Yes | `chirp-v6` recommended |
| `audio_url` | Yes | Public MP3/WAV URL |
| `continue_at` | No | Second to start from |
| `controls.audio_weight` | No | How much of the original audio to keep, 0–1 |
