# Inspiration task

> task=inspiration — generate from a playlist of 1–4 clips

Generate from a playlist you built first. This page is the `task=inspiration` body. The playlist calls are [Create Playlist](/api-reference/suno/playlistCreate) and [Add Clips](/api-reference/suno/playlistAddClips). The walkthrough is [Inspiration](/api-reference/suno/inspiration).

Without `persona` the upstream task is `playlist_condition`. With a vox persona it is `vox_playlist_condition`.

`POST /suno/v2/generate` returns `{ "taskId" }`. Poll [Get Task Status](/api-reference/suno/task). Schema: `GET /suno/v2/generate/schema?task=inspiration`.

## Before you call

1. `POST /suno/v2/playlist/create` → `playlist_id`
2. `POST /suno/v2/playlist/addClips` with **1–4** inspiration clips

## Parameters

| Field | Required | Notes |

| `task` | Yes | `"inspiration"` |
| `model` | Yes | `chirp-v6` recommended |
| `playlist_id` | Yes | From the two calls above |
| `persona` | No | Vox persona switches the upstream task. `persona_style: "vox"` plus `persona_id` and `artist_clip_id` |
| `tags` | No | Style of the new song |
| `vocal_gender` | No | `"m"` or `"f"` |
| `controls.audio_weight` | No | How closely to follow the playlist, 0–1 |
